Retrospective Exhibition: StockpART – 100 Years of Putting ART into Stockport

On Saturday 30th November from 1 pm, Stockport Art Guild is celebrating the opening of an important retrospective exhibition in the upstairs gallery at the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery.

StockpART – 100 Years of Putting ART into Stockport will be held until 16th January 2020 and showcases a century of art in Stockport from the Arts and Crafts Movement through to today. There are over 60 wonderful pieces of art to discover, many of which have never been on public display before.

Peter Davis MAFA, the exhibition’s lead curator, and archivist at Stockport Art Guild commented on the show, saying, “This year, Stockport Art Guild is celebrating 100-years since it’s formation. The exhibition not only commemorates this important landmark, but it also gives people a sense of what an amazing period the past hundred years has been for the development of art in Stockport.”
