Life Drawing

If you’ve done life drawing for years or you are a complete beginner but always wanted to give it a try, our popular sessions at the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery are ideal for you.

We run a programme of sessions, on a Thursday night. If you’re not a member of the Stockport Art Guild yet, you’re more than welcome to come along and try one of our life drawing sessions before joining the guild.

The session lasts for two hours with a short break in the middle for you to buy a tea or coffee.

Our sessions are untutored, so you’re free to work in your own way and use whatever materials you have brought along with you.

We have lots of easels, chairs, and boards for you to use. These sessions are very relaxed and full of people of all ages and abilities, so no one needs to feel intimidated.

Monthly timetable of weekly poses

First week: Short: 5 to 20 minutes, then 25 minutes.
Second week: Mixed (including a long pose).
Third week: 2 poses of 50 minutes each.
